For the next few days I’ll be in Adelaide for the Australia ICOMOS annual meeting and 20th century heritage: our recent cultural legacy conference.

20th century heritage - I think RAIA award winning (recent 20th century) examples can be considered as eligible for heritage listing. I also think heritage involves a "time" component for being considered as heritage. Would you like to comment on this? I would be eager to know what you think.

Senthilpavai: Briefly, I think RAIA awards can be read as evidence of peer recognition at the time a project is completed. But that immediate recognition is not enough to vouch for the cultural significance of a building. Best to mull it over for a generation, then make that judgement.
