America’s last wool pullery

Pittsburg, Pennsylvania was once the centre of a major hide and skin trading, tanning and fellmongering industry. This web site is about the factory of the Pittsburg Wool Company, and about a campaign to conserve it. The author, Dr David S Rotenstein, is a professional historian and an active campaigner.

Pittsburgh Wool Co building

This remarkable place is threatened by expansion of a nearby warehouse, a project supported by the city government. The web site has links to many documents about the place, and newspaper articles that chart the campaign. Recent developments are summed up in an article in the Pittsburg Post-Gazette.
