The city stories project

Broken link

I have this idea. There is a thing that I call city-based storytelling. It’s somewhere in between a personal journal and a city guide. It’s a series of personal stories where the city itself becomes a character in your story. SF Stories is basically my long love letter to San Francisco. What city do you love?

So says Derek M Powazek, whose San Francisco stories has prompted a series of city stories web sites. Each site takes on the character of its subject city, but has a common format based on stories by feature writers, stories posted by readers, and information about the city.

There are 19 cities represented. Another 39 are promised, including brisbanestories.com (there’s nothing there except a coming soon message, and it’s not related to the thriving Brisbane Stories web site I linked to in January 1999).
