Old Museum Building conservation study

This study, carried out in 1989, was the first in a series of projects involving the former Exhibition Building and Concert Hall, better known as the Old Museum Building.

The concert hall entrance, at the corner of Bowen Bridge Road and Gregory Terrace, around 1905.

The report explored the history and significance of the place, and it formed the basis for the 2000 Old Museum Building conservation management plan.

Architect's cross section drawing

Architect G H M Addison’s cross-section of the concert hall. In its day this was the premier concert venue in Brisbane. Australian soprano Dame Nellie Melba and Polish pianist Ignacy Paderewski performed there.
