The Queensland house

Broken link

A web essay from the Queensland Museum about the older houses of this part of the world.

Glentworth, Howard Street, Rosalie (Queensland Museum)

These timber houses are special to me. It’s my choice to live and work in one. As I write this, I am sitting in my study in a front room. Through the walk-through windows come breezes and views of verandah, garden and street. Rain clatters on the iron roof. My daughter Sally toddles about the linoleum floor.
